Alan Rowley

As a human resources practitioner with over thirty years experience, Alan has particular expertise in designing and implementing leadership development programs, organisational change programs and performance and talent management systems. His senior HR experience has been gained in Australia and the US with large high tech companies.

At Telstra Corporation, Alan held a number of senior HR roles including:
• Group Manager, Performance Management where he designed and implemented the corporate wide performance management system

• Principal Adviser, Organisational Change responsible for developing programs to imbed key change initiatives throughout the business

• Manager, Leadership Development at the Centre for Leadership where, working with the CEO and direct reports, he developed and implemented a series of leadership development activities to communicate and imbed the company’s change priorities with the top 200 executives

As part of a two year secondment to Motorola’s Semiconductor Sector in Austin TX, Alan worked as Consultant, Leadership and Organizational Effectiveness. Here he managed the Sector’s assessment and talent calibration processes for Vice Presidents and other senior staff. He also consulted to the design of the Sector’s succession processes.

Alan has also held a number of prior HR generalist roles in industry and semi-government organisations.

Alan is an associate of Melbourne Business School Australia. He is a qualified Leadership Circle (TLC) practitioner and is certified by ExperiencePoint (Canada) to conduct change management and design thinking simulations. Alan holds a degree in business studies and a graduate diploma in education. He is also a certified professional of the Australian Human Resources Institute.
